The Los Angeles Kings had a tough fought first round playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers, but ultimately lost in six games. After making the playoffs two years in a row and losing in the first round back-to-back, the Kings will need to make further additions to their roster to get over the hump.
Arvidsson, 30, is coming off one of the best seasons of his career where he put up 59 points (26 goals, 33 assists), 24 penalty minutes and was a minus-four in 77 regular season games. During their playoff series against Edmonton, Arvidsson was arguably one of the Kings' best forwards, recording seven points in six games.
The Skelleftea (Sweden) native could become a hot commodity on the open market this summer and would be a player that General Manager Patrik Allvin has his eyes on, but with the Canucks' current cap situation, it may be difficult to make it work.
2023-24 will mark the final year of Arvidsson's contract and he's set to earn $4.25 million, which is very reasonable for his offensive production. He'll become an unrestricted free agent in July 2024.
