LATEST | Minor pro player assessed wild eighteen game suspension for intent to injure
The Federal Prospects Hockey League handed out a lengthy suspension on Tuesday. Danbury Hat Tricks forward Daniel Amesbury has received an 18-game suspension for intent to injure following his ejection from their contest on Saturday, December 2nd.
Amesbury, 33, last received a suspension for the same reason during the 2022-2023 season, and missed 12 games.
Amesbury has accumulated 72 penalty minutes in just 9 games so far this season. He served 298 total minutes across 29 games last season.
Because of Mr. Amesbury's status as a 'repeat offender' (12 month history) any suspensions he receives automatically increase exponentially. His last suspension for attempt to injure was for 12 games, 11 months ago. This means that this suspension automatically starts at 12 games and is increased by 50% resulting in an EIGHTEEN (18) GAME suspension.
