LATEST | Patrik Allvin finally speaks about Ekman-Larsson's buyout and the team's recent hire
It caused quite a stir when the team's GM, Patrik Allvin, announced they had opted to buy out the veteran defenseman Oliver Ekman Larsson.
The Canucks needed a way out of this situation; everyone thought one of Conor Garland, Brock Boeser or Tyler Myers would end up being traded away; Allvin announced that Myers and Boeser would not be sent anywhere else and elected to buy out the veteran defenseman.
Allvin opened up on the subject with the team's latest addition Kate Pettersen:
This buyout marks a new building point for the Canucks. Now that they've created the needed cap space, it's actually what they end up doing with it that'll matter most.
