MAJOR | Allvin confirms great news regarding Elias Pettersson's relationship with the Canucks
Allvin and the Canucks will be facing a turning point in the franchise's history with the team's superstar Elias Pettersson entering the last year of his contract.
Pettey was a real standout this year and Allvin even admitted that he carried the team managing a career-high 102 points. Per Allvin's belief, we're only scratching the surface of his potential.
While there is no timeline yet on the extension, Allvin was quite optimistic and repeatedly stated that Pettersson was thrilled to be a part of this organization moving forward.
Allvin stressed that he knew how important this was going to be for the team in the midst of their retool and pointed out that he was excited to see this deal through.
At this point, there are no indications as to what that deal may look like. Comparisons were drawn to Mat Barzal's ($9.15M x 8 years) and Matthew Tkachcuk's ($9.5M x 8 years). The ongoing thought going around is that Pettey may actually fetch a deal north of $10M AAV.
