Seravalli reveals Miller's value on the trade market
While Canucks and Bo Horvat's clan seem to have hit an impasse in their extension talks. The Canucks' most recent signing, J.T. Miller, has not been aging well and his contract hasn't even kicked in yet.
Lately, the possibility of the Canucks trading their number 9 has been up in the air for the latest bit. But even though trade chatter surrounding Miller has picked up, Frank Seravalli's made quite the intriguing statement on the matter and the fans are certainly not going to like this thread.
« I don't know if JT Miller is tradable right now with that contract. You'd have to sweeten the pot to pull the trigger and move on from him.
Hold on, what? How can you even imagine having to add a sweetener, to trade a player that was one point short of the 100-barrier no later than last year? The Canucks were in the same position they were facing right now with Bo Horvat. (A contract coming to an end and the player has a career year during negotiation)
Though one thing that stood out even more, than Seravalli's revelation is the comment remembering what the return from the Rangers was rumored to be, had the Canucks chosen to move on from J.T. last year.
Filip Chytil, Nils Lundkvist and 1st Round Pick. Now instead they've engaged themselves to pay the guy $56M over the next 7 years and can't get a decent return. What's the Canucks best play here? Should they hope Miller picks his game up? Should they pay to get him out of Vancouver?
