WATCH: Bruce gets emotional during the game when the fans show their support
It's hard to say the same about the Canucks' organization, but Bruce Boudreau has been a true professional in the last turn of events.
Rumors are coming from every corner that Rick Tocchet will be taking over the coaching job in Vancouver. Most recently the media have been all over it and they've started asking questions to Bruce about it. Sources really close to the team have confirmed that the coaching change was set to happen after the game against the Oilers and yet the Canucks allow this fiasco to continue.
A chant started during the second period to support Bruce came out from the stands. Boudreau acknowledged the movement coming from the fans and even got a little emotional along the way, here's the sequence:
Iain MacIntyre from Sportsnet had the chance to gather Bruce Boudreau's comments regarding the fanbase:
"It's unbelievable. I mean, I've only been here a year, but it'll go down in my memory books out of the 48 years I've played and coached as the most incredible thing I've experienced on a personal level other than winning championships. It's very touching."
The infamous "Bruce, There it is!" chant will live forever in his memories, even though once his tenure ends he'll register his first season with a losing record. Boudreau now has 1086 NHL games under his belt and at 68 years of age, and tonight may be the last time he gets to coach an NHL game. Will Boudreau go out with a win against the Oilers?
