The Vancouver Canucks are having a disappointing season but there's a bright side to being a non-playoff team and that's the rare chance of drafting a generational talent.
That is indeed the 17-year-old hockey phenom from the Regina Pats of the Western Hockey League. Bedard is going to be a future NHL superstar one day, but during a recent photo appearance, Bedard was asked something that truly made him blush.
With Valentine's day just around the corner, a female teenage fan of Bedard's asked him if he'd want to be his valentine. Bedard seemed hesitant at first, but the teenage girl's mom stepped in and forced it on Bedard. The North-Van native clearly wasn't comfortable with the situation.
At the end of the day, this young fan was pleased with his response. Soon to be the first overall pick, Bedard will have to get used to these, especially with the buzz going on around him.
As for us Canucks fans, we can hope to win the lottery but let's not base our entire retooling plan on that.
