Earlier this week the Vancouver Canucks traded away their captain Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders for Anthony Beauvillier 20-year-old prospect Aatu Raty and a top-12 protected 2023 first-round pick. There was speculation that Horvat was going to be traded but not this soon.
What was even more interesting was the news that Horvat would still represent the Vancouver Canucks for this weekend's NHL All-Star weekend in Florida. Despite being a New York Islander, it was very odd to see Horvat in that Islander's Jersey for the first time.
What was very special was Horvat being he was on the Pacific Division team got to play with his former teammate Elias Pettersson and was caught on Sportsnet's hot mic. Horvat and Pettersson would say:
One last time? Yeah, one last time. Let's at least connect one last goal.
Horvat would then set up Pettersson for one of those goals that Canucks fans remember so fondly of a sweet saucer pass from Horvat beating goaltender Connor Hellebuyck. The two would then celebrate on the bench together it was truly something special.
