LATEST | Elias Pettersson delivers his first thoughts on his new linemate Elias Lindholm
It caused a shock when the Canucks went out to acquire the top player on the market, Elias Lindholm.
The newest Canuck played his first game in front of his new fans and scored twice to help the team beat the Detroit Red Wings. His fellow Swede Elias Pettersson collected three assists and adressed the trade for the first time following the lead. You could he loved having another Swede around:
"Another Swede. Another Elias. It's perfect."
First star Elias Pettersson chats with @CanucksReporter on tonight's win, the play of Thatcher Demko, and linemate Elias Lindholm! The Swede connection between Lindholm, Pettersson and the young Hoglander has been paying off lately. It'll be interesting to see how Tocchet manages his lines moving forward, but having another top-end 200-foot player like Lindholm surely helps the team and their roster construction.
It'll also be intriguing to see how the Canucks manage their pending free agents, we all knew Pettersson was bound to be a restricted free agent, but Lindholm will be an unrestricted free agent by this season's end. While the money seems to be on Pettersson, there is hope that Allvin could find a way to retain both player's services.
