MAJOR | NHL to put an end to another event
The NHL may be moving away from hosting a full scale awards show at the end of the season.
Normally the NHL hosts an awards show, often in Vegas, presenting all the individual trophies to players, coaches, and GMs.
But on the 32 Thoughts podcast, Elliotte Friedman said that tradition could be coming to an end, and there likely won't be an awards show this year.
It sounds like a big awards show isn't in the cards this year,
The NHL could look to follow in the footsteps of the NBA by handing out awards to players either the day before playoff games or on game day, so winning players can receive ovations from their home crowd.
Friedman added that he doesn't think the NHL will do that with a big award like the Hart, but all signs point towards the NHL moving from a big awards show.
