The Minnesota Wild (3), the Montreal Canadiens (2), the Boston Bruins (1), the Calgary Flames (2), the LA Kings (4), the Tampa Bay Lightning (2), the Nashville Predators (3), the St. Louis Blues and the Chicago Blackhawks were all active on the waiver placing a total of 23 players which included two former 1st rounders and a former Canucks defenceman:
The 30-year-old defenceman Derrick Pouliot now finds himself in the Tampa Bay Lightning's organization. Since he was with the Canucks in from 2017 to 2019, Pouliot has been a part of seven different NHL organizations. The 22 points he managed in 2017-2018 are the most he's ever collected at the NHL level, he managed 46 points in 67 AHL games last season.
Kiefer Bellows also highlights today's waiver, the former New York Islanders' first rounder made a few trips to waiver since last year, but he still hasn't lived up to the expectations that would've seen him become an elite powerforward. After he managed 49 points in 52 AHL games, the Toronto Maple Leafs chose to let him go and he now belongs to the Predators' organization. Only 26, there's still a chance he could develop into an efficient bottom six forward, especially at his pace of production in the AHL.
