MAJOR | Allvin comments on the Tyler Myers trade rumours: His intentions are clear
Darren Dreger dropped quite a piece of information when he revealed that the Canucks and the Sharks had a deal in place for the veteran defenseman Tyler Myers.
The team's GM, Patrik Allvin, gave a press conference and addressed the subject.
'If there was a deal out there on the table, why wouldn't a deal have already been done? I've made it clear that Tyler [Myers] is part of our team going forward.''
After such a speech, it seems clear that Allvin is trying to move the defenseman. Rick Dhaliwal reported talks corroborating Dreger's reports stating that Tyler Myers' name had been circulating a LOT' in trade talks.
The defenseman has entered the last year of his deal which carries a $6M AAV. However, he'll receive a hefty $5M bonus prior to the beginning of the season, leaving only $1M in actual salary. Making Myers' contract extremely valuable for teams trying to reach the cap floor without spending too much.
