TRADE ALERT | Flyers and Hurricanes complete a trade: The centrepiece is a BC product
The Flyers were working hard to make a trade happen around Tony DeAngelo at first and when that failed, they ultimately ended buying him out.
It appears that the Flyers wanted one prospect from the Hurricanes and they've finally made that deal happen. The final confirmation has yet to come through, but here's what the deal looks like at the moment:
'' TRADE ALERT: We have acquired the rights to forward Massimo Rizzo and Carolina's own fifth-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft in exchange for the rights to forward David Kase.)'' The Flyers send David Kase signing rights (2015 5th Round pick) for Massimo Arizona and a 5th Round pick in the upcoming draft. Rizzo just turned 22 and is coming off a strong sophomore season at the University of Denver where he collected 46 points in only 38 games.
Rizzo was a 7th Round selection in 2019, the Burnaby BC. native spent his junior days in the BCHL before crossing the border to start his collegiate career.
