Quinn Hughes has been a standout on the ice but his ability to lead and speak up this year has also stood out big time.

The Canucks have revealed their intentions for their pride night which will be taking place tomorrow against the Flames. There have been lots of controversies all around the league on the subject and there had been doubts about whether or not the Canucks would be wearing a special jersey for the occasion. The Canucks released the following statement in that regard last night, it was Michael Doyle, the team's president of business operations for Canucks Sports & Entertainment, who spoke:

«The opportunity to celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community is very important to our entire organization. Pride night and all the incredible activities that highlight this evening is special for a number of reasons.
Besides raising awareness and understanding, it also lets our fan base know that everyone is welcome here at Rogers Arena. Our club believes strongly in diversity and inclusion, and we look forward to celebrating these core values with our community»

The Canucks will be making a $20K donation on behalf of Canucks for Kids Fund to Qmunity, a non-profit in Vancouver that supports 2SLGBTQIA+ people.

Quinn Hughes also had his say on the subject and spoke big when he delivered his thoughts:

'In our organization, everyone is welcome. Every time we've done the pride night, I've worn the jersey and celebrated the nightwe're looking forward to it. , I think it's a great night, and I'm glad we're doing it.''

The Canucks have shown their support for the cause and so has Hughes, however, there are still some issues to be uncovered. It's well-known across the league that some Russian players have decided to opt out of wearing the pride night jerseys for safety reasons and/or personal beliefs. The Canucks' roster showcases Andrei Kuzmenko, Vasily Podkolzin, and Vitaly Kravtsov who could be playing, at this point none of them have made any statement in that regard. We expect to know more closer to game time tomorrow!
