The Canucks and their players have been buried in Trade Talks all year, with the team's contractual situation and their season debut lackluster performances. They've been previewed to be sellers heading onto March 3rd for a while now.

Obviously, Brock Boeser was very well aware that after he'd asked for a trade out of Vancouver that the rumors and speculation would explode and they have not stopped since.

Boeser was asked in today's media availability whether or not he had become better over the years to block the outside noise and his response says it all:

''Not as good as previous years.''

He added that it felt a lot more serious this year and he's well aware just like everybody else that a trade is coming rather sooner than later. Boeser knows it is a real possibility he gets traded and he stated on multiple occasions that he was taking it day by day. Both Demko and Myers were asked to comment on the subject and it's getting to be a real distraction on the ice.

''I tried putting my phone away yesterday, ..., tried having a relaxing day and it turned into a not-so-relaxing day.''

From his comment clearly, Boeser is getting mentally burned by his situation. He needs a change of scenery and the team needs this drama to be dealt with. Rick Tocchet also had something to add to it, he sure knows what deadlines are not only as a seasoned NHL coach but also due to his experience as a player.

Tocchet claims he's noticed his winger focus switch at times, he stated that the trade talks obviously have an effect on a player's mental focus:

''It's hard but you got to you got to focus on the task at hand, that is the game''

The team has gone through all sorts of emotion over the season, they've recently traded team captain and Boeser's longtime teammate Bo Horvat. Now they seem to be turning the page over to the team's new core with Filip Hronek's acquisition and it's clear Boeser wants to start fresh elsewhere. Canucks need to get this over yet, for Boeser's sake, but for the locker room spirit as well.
COULD THE CANUCKS HAVE AVOIDED THIS TURN OF EVENTS WITH BROCK BOESER?
