In Meier's debut game for the Devils, after he scored his first goal, O'Brien than chirped Meier and it was caught on camera and on the mic going back to their junior hockey days :
It sounds abit like sour grapes since Meier is a well known NHL star now and Liam O'Brien is basically an AHL player with anyone other the Coyotes. He felt like he had to go back to their junior hockey days, where Meier was better then O'Brien then too.
The Devils acquired the soon to be restricted free agent Timo Meier, prior to this year's deadline and he's been lighting it up in New Jersey since his arrival. The big winger now has 53 points in 58 games, he shares a line with the upcoming NHL superstar Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt.
