Carson Briere, son of current Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Daniel Briere, has found himself in hot water after being caught on camera pushing an unoccupied wheelchair down a flight of stairs at a club or bar. The video, which appears to be from a security camera, shows Briere sitting in the wheelchair for a moment before pushing it down the stairs, while others look on.

Many people are questioning the young man's actions and calling for accountability. Some are also questioning the accessibility of the area and why a wheelchair was even at the top of the stairs. However, the argument about accessibility and whether the individual who owns the wheelchair needs it is a topic for another day.

As a member of a university hockey team and the son of an individual who made a living playing the game and now as an executive, one would think that Briere would have more common sense or compassion than what was shown in the video. There is no excuse for this type of action to occur, whether under the influence of alcohol or as a misguided attempt at humor.

Briere's actions have raised concerns about his behavior and the impact it could have on his future. It is unclear what will happen to Briere moving forward, but a discussion with his father, repercussions from the university, and a possible removal or suspension from the hockey team should not be out of the question.

It is also worth noting that this is not the first time Briere has faced controversy. He has previously kicked off the Arizona State Sun Devils team for what the team described as "a violation of team rules".

As the investigation continues, it is important to remember that actions have consequences, and even those with privilege and influence can face legal and social repercussions for their actions. Briere's behavior is a sobering reminder of the need for empathy, compassion, and respect toward all individuals, regardless of their background or circumstances.
