MAJOR | Coyotes release official statement on their next destination: Take shots at Connor Bedard
The Arizona Coyotes have been in the middle of a lot of controversies over the last few months especially due to the uncertainty of their location in the near future.
They've manage to have a temporary solution with Arizona State University's Mullet Arena, but they deeply need a better solution since 5000 seats doesn't cut it for an NHL team. Via an official press release, the team's public relation team confirmed that they were working to find a solution.
Earlier today, they confirmed that they had executed a letter of intent to purchase land in Mesa, Arizona to eventually build an Arena:
'' "We can confirm that Coyotes Owner, Chairman & Governor Alex Meruelo has executed a Letter of Intent to purchase a parcel of land located in Mesa, Arizona to be the potential site for a sports arena and entertainment district for the Club. The Coyotes remain committed to building the first privately funded sports facility in Arizona history and ensuring the Valley as the Club's permanent home. In addition to this property in Mesa, the Club will continue to explore other potential sites in the East Valley. ''
The Coyotes didn't stop there, in their release they thanked their fans for their support and took shot at the latest number one pick Connor Bedard as they reffered to Logan Cooley as the top prospect in the world :
Cooley just signed his entry level deal after he was chosen as the 3rd Overall pick in the 2022 NHL draft. Coming off a strong freshman collegiate season collecting 60 points in 39 games, he'll definitely be a strong opposition for the Vancouver native Connor Bedard in the race for the best rookie.
