Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote has given an update on defenseman Filip Hronek after he left Friday's game following a hit by Carolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov.
The Vancouver Canucks' injury issues continue to pile up as last night, captain
Quinn Hughes didn't take the warmup and was not in the lineup as they opened up a three-game road trip against the Carolina Hurricanes.
With Quinn Hughes on the sidelines, attention shifted to Filip Hronek to carry the load on the blue line for the Canucks on Friday night, however in the third period he was forced to leave the game following a dangerous and quite frankly, reckless incident.

In the third period of last night's game, Filip Hronek was clearing the puck out of his zone when Carolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov comes in and catches the Canucks blueliner in the head with a flying elbow.
There was no penalty on the play, despite the official standing right by the hit, and Filip Hronek was forced to leave the game and did not return.
"Filip Hronek has left the game after this elbow from Andrei Svechnikov 😳"
After the game, Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote told reporters that defenseman Filip Hronek was forced to leave the game due to being pulled by concussion spotters.
"Adam Foote says Filip Hronek was pulled by the concussion spotter. #Canucks" Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 said on X.
Svechnikov's hit on Hronek didn't sit too well with many in hockey community including Edmonton Oilers reporter Jason Gregor and Vancouver Canucks analyst Ray Ferraro, who believes the Hurricanes forward should be facing a suspension.
"Don't see blatant chicken wing attempts to the head very often anymore, but this sure looked like one." Gregor said on X.
"You can see the referee turning to protect himself but this should be a suspension when the league looks at it. Blatant elbow" Ferraro said.
While his status for tomorrow's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning is unclear at the moment, everyone here at Canucks Daily are hoping that Filip Hronek is feeling better today and that he'll be able to return to game action very soon.
