LATEST | Former Bruins coach hints at Bergeron's predecessor for Captaincy
The Boston Bruins are now without a captain after Patrice Bergeron announced his retirement from professional hockey after 19 seasons in the NHL.
There's no question that the Bruins have at least a few players that are capable of taking over the captaincy, but on a recent edition of the 'Cam & Strick podcast', former Boston head coach Bruce Cassidy gave his take on who should wear the 'C'.
Cassidy said that the leading choice would probably be Brad Marchand and that he would do a great job as the team's captain.
"Brad will be a great leader, leading by example, will to win, been there done it." Cassidy said.
He added, " He'll just have to learn to deal with the younger players that are coming into the league that still haven't found their traction. That will be the one challenge for Brad because he's got high expectations of everybody. That's just the way he is, and there's nothing wrong with that. But how he communicates with those guys, my guess, is that will probably be his biggest challenge."
