Brad Marchand takes big tackle from linesman
The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs are currently at a 1-1 deadlock in the final minutes of Game 5, as fans are in for an incredibly exciting finish. The Bruins have the chance to close out the series with a win, potentially eliminating the Maple Leafs just one year after advancing to the second round for the first time in two decades.
Bruins' captain Brad Marchand was involved in a heated exchange with Leafs' forward Pontus Holmberg, and both were ultimately handed coincidental penalties as the teams went to 4-on-4 action. Marchand, however, was victim of another brief exchange with a linesman, who promptly knocked the forward off of his feet and onto the ice.
Marchand enters the game as the series' leading scorer with eight points, more than double anyone on the Maple Leafs roster. Also of note is the absence of Auston Matthews for this game, as he deals with an illness that caused him to be removed from the loss in Game 4.
