It's been over three months since the passing of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, who were tragically struck and killed while riding their bikes in their hometown of Salem, New Jersey.
It hasn't been an easy time for the Gaudreau family or the Columbus Blue Jackets, who Johnny Gaudreau played with before his passing.
On Tuesday night, the Columbus Blue Jackets continued their five-game road trip with a stop in Calgary to take on the Flames - the team Johnny Gaudreau began his career and spent parts of nine seasons with.
The Gaudreau family made the trip to Calgary for the game and were brought onto the ice for a ceremonial puck drop, followed by a beautiful picture with both teams.
After their 3-0 shutout win, the Calgary Flames were announcing their three-stars of the game and for their first star, announced Johnny Gaudreau.
Gaudreau's father Guy came out onto the ice, along with Rasmus Andersson and Mikael Backlund, to salute and thank the crowd.
Prior to puck drop, Meredith Gaudreau shared with Ryan Leslie of Sportsnet that she got a tattoo earlier in the day to honor her late husband.
Her tattoo, which is on her right wrist, is of Johnny's autograph, which she felt was fitting to get in Calgary where his National Hockey League career began.
This is a great way for Meredith Gaudreau to honor Johnny and to do it in Calgary, where his career began, where he made a name for himself, makes it all the more special.
