It's been quite an entertaining Western Conference Final so far between the Dallas Stars and Edmonton Oilers, with Game 4 set for Wednesday night.
Prior to Game 3 on Monday night, Dallas Stars goaltender
Jake Oettinger, who has been great all throughout the Stanley Cup Playoffs, was asked by reporters what he's learned from this series against the Edmonton Oilers.
Oettinger said that the Oilers come as advertised and with a grin on his face, called
Connor McDavid and
Leon Draisaitl 'decent' while praising his team's effort in shutting that duo down.
"I mean, obviously they're pretty much what you expect on paper. McDavid and Draisaitl are decent, yeah pretty decent and I think we've done a good job of defending them as a group and making smart plays when they're on the ice. Being disciplined and staying out of the box has been huge." Oettinger said.
Later that night, the Stars goaltender went on to make 27 saves on 30 shots, despite allowing a goal from Connor McDavid, to give Dallas a 2-1 series lead over the Oilers.
Oettinger, 25, has appeared in all 16 of Dallas' games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs where he has a record of 10-6 with a 2.03 goals against average and a .923 save percentage.
The Stars will need Jake Oettinger to have another big game tonight at Rogers Place in Edmonton and with a win, Dallas will push the Oilers to the brink of elimination. Puck drop for tonight's game is set for 5:30 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET on Sportsnet and CBC.
