This left the team searching for a permanent GM. Jeff Jackson has been handling decisions over the summer but has clarified that he does not want the position full-time. Now, the Oilers are linked to Stan Bowman, a figure who comes with his own set of controversies.
All signs seem to be pointing to Stan Bowman joining the Edmonton Oilers in some capacity as the team continues their GM search.
