The Vancouver Canucks have their lines set for group A of their training camp. According to Thomas Drance, Canucks writer, the top line to start training camp is Kuzmenko-Pettersson-Hoglander. This is some big news for Hoglander, who was sent down to the AHL due to inconsistent play last season.
The 22-year-old Hoglander had an up-and-down season last year. He was only able to play in 25 games on the NHL team, scoring 9 points. By comparison to his last two seasons, those numbers are not good enough for Hoglander's standard.
The Canucks sent Hoglander down to their AHL affiliate, Abbotsford Canucks, where he played solid, scoring 32 points in 45 games in the regular season and adding 6 points in 6 playoff games. The Canucks will hope that he is ready to step up and play with the big guns this year.
The Canucks will have Teddy Blueger centering their second line with Di Giuseppe and Beauviller as his wingers. Group A's third line consists of Raty centering Dries and Studnicka. Rounding out group A's forwards, Max Sasson will be centering McDonough and Klimovich.
