LATEST | Canucks make significant cuts to training camp roster: 5 players land on waivers
Less than 24 hours after their win over the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Arena, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin has announced a significant number of cuts to their training camp roster, including by placing five players on waivers.
Placed on waiver wire - Sunday, October 1st
Released from professional tryout (PTO) and assigned to Abbotsford
- Chase Wouters
- Quinn Schmiemann
- John Stevens
Assigned to Abbotsford for start of AHL training camp
It's a little bit surprising to see Aatu Raty and Vasily Podkolzin assigned to the American Hockey League already and many had expected them to get a longer look in training camp with the Canucks. There's no doubt though that at some point this season, both Raty and Podkolzin will be up with the team in Vancouver getting into game action in the NHL.
The Canucks will be back in action on Wednesday night when they play a neutral site game in Abbotsford against the Seattle Kraken at 7 p.m. PT.
