LATEST | Captainship race in Vancouver: Canucks may have already revealed their next captain
The Canucks have been captainless ever since Bo Horvat was shipped to Long Island. There are lots of speculations around the team, but it always came down to the same three guys that could potentially, eventually, bear the C'.
The Canucks have started posting a countdown of how many days there were left before the puck drop, and they've been using their players' numbers to mark it. Simultaneously, the team's marketing group started a mini-series with Quinn Hughes, where they followed him around his daily routine for a week.
A fan brought up a theory that may have revealed the Canucks' plan to reveal their newest captain. The Canucks' Going Home mini-series will end when there are only 43 days left before puck-drop, is it just a coincidence? Or are the Canucks building up and showing off Hughes and intend on dropping the news at the end of the week?
At this point, Hughes seems to be atop the list as the team's next bearer of the C.' Pettersson has yet to engage with the team long-term, and Tocchet repeatedly stated that Huggy' was a guy he liked very much for that job.
Hughes would become the second 2018 Draftee to be named captain after the Senators made Brady Tkachuk theirs.
