We've all seen it; Quinn Hughes has been an absolute showman ever since he stepped on the ice for the Canucks' opening game. The Canucks' captain has been praised for his many qualities, especially his play with the puck and his capacity to pull off spectacular offensive performances.
CONOR GARLAND PRAISES HIS CAPTAINWhile we've heard many positive things about Hughes' offensive game, his defensive prowess is flying under the radar. He's currently putting up Norris Trophy-worthy numbers at both ends of the ice, and Conor Garland didn't hesitate to call his teammate's defensive game 'underrated':

Hughes has been on a tear offensively; he leads the league in points within the defencemen (52, tied with Cale Makar) but also shows the club in the differential ratings. Side by side with his new linemate, Filip Hronek, both feature an outstanding +33.
