LATEST | Frank Seravalli calls out the Canucks for their hypocrisy
The Canucks have reportedly been trying to find a decent enough project to build a practice facility for the team. They've been circling the idea of creating a new facility or perhaps renovating an existing one.
Rick Tocchet called the team's ownership in that regard before the season's beginning, and there's been close to no development on the subject since then. Jim Rutherford addressed the subject in an interview, stating that building projects were costly in Vancouver and that the team's ownership had been considering renovating due to the costs.
Frank Seravalli was on Sekeres on Price and called out the team for their hypocrisy in that regard:
'@frank_seravalli on the #Canucks looking at renovating an existing arena vs. building their practice rink:
"I don't want to hear for one second about how expensive things are in VAN..we're talking about a billion-dollar franchise!"
"I don't want to hear for one second about how expensive things are in VAN..we're talking about a billion-dollar franchise!"
One of the most valuable franchises in the NHL, the Canucks are one of the only teams not to own a practice facility. You'd have to think that state-of-the-art facilities would be a big selling point when the free agent chase begins.
