LATEST | Insider updates on Ilya Mikheyev: Close to a return a timeline has been set
There have been many talks surrounding Ilya Mikheyev in the last few days since the winger has yet to show his readiness. There's been lots of speculation on social media, and ultimately, his agent, Dan Milstein, came out and delivered a statement announcing that Mikheyev was nearing a return.
The Canucks' number 65 was supposed to be all set when he came to training camp, but nothing has gone his way as he still hasn't fully recovered and taken part as a full participant in practice.
Rick Dhaliwal had a vital update earlier today and even opened up on a possible timeline for IM65:
"I would say he's a week away, Donnie.."

Update the latest with Ilya Mikheyev and him missing opening night tomorrow.
According to his sources, he shouldn't miss much regular-season action since he's expected to be a part of the Canucks' road trip.
The team's GM, Patrik Allvin, finally opened up on it and revealed that if it were up to him, Mikheyev would be playing tomorrow. Still, the Canucks wanted to be extra careful to prevent any possible setbacks:
Patrik Allvin says he thinks Mikheyev wants to play tomorrow but that it's a fine line in making sure they aren't pushing him: "I would believe that he's pretty close to returning here"
The Canucks' medical team has been scrutinized most recently after the
Tanner Pearson saga. Mikheyev's impact on the line-up is much more critical, so they can't screw this one up. The Russian winger plays an integral part in the Canucks' playoff hopes.
