We know what Quinn Hughes is capable of on the ice and as his career continues, he'll be known first for his offensive abilities and will produce a ton for the Vancouver Canucks.
Recently, Hughes was asked what he decided to work on this summer and his answer is going to put a big smile on every single fan of the Canucks.
If the 23-year-old is able to find the back of the net more often going forward, as well as putting up 50-60+ assists per season, there's no doubt that he'll find himself in the Norris Trophy conversation year after year. Hughes is already one of the best defencemen in the National Hockey League and moves the puck very well, has elite hockey IQ and has great vision, so if he's able to continue doing what he's done for the past few years, as well as scoring more, he'll become a top-five defenceman.
The Orlando native is poised for another big year in 2023-24 and he has more responsibility by being the team's captain, which will motivate him to be even better than he has been. After putting up 76 points in 79 games last season, which is a single-season record for defencemen in Canucks franchise history, there's a very good chance that Hughes will hit or even surpass the 80-point mark.
Hughes and the Canucks will open training camp later this week and will kickoff their preseason schedule on Sunday against the Calgary Flames.
