On Sunday, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced further discipline for Tyler Myers, handing him a $5,000 fine for the elbow on Kuraly.
Initially, the officials called a five-minute major on Ian Cole for boarding, but after a review, his penalty was rescinded and instead, Myers was tossed from the game, which drew the ire of many in the hockey world. It left many confused, not because of the elbow, but because it was thought that the officials aren't allowed to look at another incident while reviewing a the initial call on the play.
