A Verdict Has Now Been Reached on Nikolaj Ehlers Signing with the Vancouver Canucks
With the Vancouver Canucks not making much moves on day three of NHL free-agency, there were some rumblings that they still might pursue top-free agent target Nikolaj Ehlers, but a new announcement has confirmed his fate with the team.
Before Brock Boeser re-signed for a seven-year, $50.75 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks, there was an almost guarantee that he was going to be heading to the open market to try and punch the biggest ticket possible.
Fortunately he did sign, but it also left the door open for Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin to try and find more help in their top-6, using a name that was constantly reported as a solid replacement for the former 40-goal scorer.

The 29-year-old Ehlers just completed his 10th NHL season in 2024-25, netting 24 goals and adding another 39 assists for 63 points in 69 regular-season games for the Winnipeg Jets.
With Carolina looking to get back to Playoff's and making a push for the Stanley Cup, Ehlers brings a lot of fire power to take them to the next level.
Personally, We would rather have Boeser anyway..
