After collecting two wins in the first round when the Canucks were opposed to the Nashville Predators, Silovs confidently came into the second round where he's now opposed to some of the NHL's very best offensive threats in Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Since Silovs' very first steps in the organization, his development has been one for the history books. The Canucks made him a 6th Round Draft Selection; he made his North American debut in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and worked his way up from there.
At this point, it is fair to say that the Canucks have made a legitimate steal with a late draft pick. Currently sitting on top of the Canucks prospect pool between the pipes, his chance of developing into Thatcher Demko's replacement is growing by the day. One could argue that he's already obtained Casey DeSmith's back-up job for next season.
