Former Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo expressed his love for Vancouver during an interview after winning the Stanley Cup for a second consecutive year.

After a two month battle, the Florida Panthers were crowned Stanley Cup champions on Tuesday night for the second consecutive season, becoming the third team since 2000 to win in back-to-back years following the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016 & 2017 and the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2020 and 2021.
A trio of former Vancouver Canucks played a role in helping the Florida Panthers win the Stanley Cup this year including Jonah Gadjovich, Nate Schmidt and even Roberto Luongo, who serves as the team's Special Assistant to the General Manager.

As the buzzer sounded at the end of the third period last night, the Panthers streamed onto the ice to celebrate their victory and were soon followed by their coaching staff and the team's management, including Roberto Luongo.
Luongo had his moment with the Stanley Cup once again, and was surrounded by members of his family, who cheered him and the Florida Panthers on all season long.
"The Panthers legend and money man for big games on the drum. Roberto Luongo hoisting the Stanley Cup." Will Manso said on X.

The former Canucks goaltender was then interviewed by Sportsnet's Gene Principe where he expressed his love for the city of Vancouver after discussing his comments and posts about Brad Marchand, someone who he battled with in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final.
"Of course. I mean, I love Vancouver too. Brad and I had our battles, that was 15 years ago, we have to be able to move on and he's a great player obviously and an even better teammate, so we're just happy to have him on our team.

We saw what he did on this run, not only on the ice, but in the locker room, on the bench, everywhere. He was a huge add to our team." Luongo said.
Roberto Luongo and the rest of the Florida Panthers' management staff are going to be quite busy in the weeks ahead as once the Stanley Cup celebrations wrap up, they'll be back to work, first with the Entry Draft next weekend and then in free agency, as they'll certainly try to find a way to keep their top pending unrestricted free agents Sam Bennett, Brad Marchand and Aaron Ekblad.
