Canucks prospect spoke very highly of his coach Manny Malhotra on the Canucks Conversation podcast this past weekend.
AHL Abbotsford defenseman Victor Mancini has high praise for his coach Manny Malhotra.
As the Abbotsford Canucks took a 1-0 lead over the Coachella Valley Firebirds in Round 2 of the AHL playoffs, David Quadrelli and Harman Dayal sat down with defenseman Victor Mancini to discuss his recent trade, playoff journey, and adjustment to the Canucks organization.
Here's what Mancini had to say when asked about his head coach.
"Our relationship individually between me and Manny is growing. He's a guy who brings excitement and energy to the rink every day, and guys feed off that. At the same time, he's going to push you and demand the best from you, which has been really good for me in my time here.» -Mancini
Remy Mastey from The Hockey News writes Mancini seemed poised to stay with the New York Rangers for the long haul, but everything changed when he was traded to the Vancouver Canucks in January.
The 2022 fifth-round pick had climbed the ranks within the Rangers' prospect pool and earned a spot on the team's opening night roster after a strong training camp performance.
"In the 15 games he played for the Rangers, Mancini showed promise and although he was eventually sent back down to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, the wide growing sentiment that he would make his way back to the NHL eventually." -Mastey
