The Vancouver Canucks were hit with some bad injury news regarding goaltender Thatcher Demko on Tuesday and then just before puck drop, Tyler Myers was deemed out for Game 2.

Following the Game 2 loss, Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet met with the media and gave an update on both Tyler Myers and Thatcher Demko.

Tocchet told reporters that Thatcher Demko will be out week-to-week just hours after TSN's Farhan Lalji said that the netminder had an MRI and is dealing with a knee issue. Earlier in the day, Tocchet said that Demko was day-to-day, so for his status to be downgraded to week-to-week, the team must've got the results back on his MRI.

As for defenceman Tyler Myers, who was made a late-scratch on Tuesday night and didn't take the warmup, Tocchet said that he missed the game with the flu. In his absence, the Canucks put 27-year-old Noah Juulsen in the lineup for his first career Stanley Cup Playoff game and he played quite well.

"Rick Tocchet tells us Tyler Myers was out tonight with the flu and Thatcher Demko is week to week. #Canucks" Team reporter Kate Petterssen said.

Without Thatcher Demko, the Canucks are going to have a very tough time, there's no doubt about that and Tuesday night was an example of that as Casey DeSmith allowed three goals on 15 shots as Vancouver lost 4-1.

With the Canucks having today and tomorrow off before the series picks back up in Nashville on Friday night, the team is hoping that Tyler Myers will be ready to go for Game 3 at Bridgestone Arena.
