Canucks to make one last attempt at signing Nikita Zadorov: The deadline is in
There's been a whole lot of headlines on Nikita Zadorov recently. The defenseman is about to hit free agency and the Canucks may not be able to retain his services.
Reports confirmed that Zadorov had rejected the Canucks' first offer, which came during the season. Since then, Zadorov has made it crystal clear that he liked the city and the team. This however, doesn't mean that he'll signing a contract way below his worth. The defenseman has agreed to lower his expectations money wise if he gets the chance to stick with the Canucks, but does he lower them enough for the Canucks and their management?
The Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal delivered a very intriguing update on the subject. According to his intel, the Vanucks will be submitting one last offer before he hits free agency.
"A final offer is coming to Zadorov soon.."

Zadorov showed his worth during the Canucks' most recent playoff run. He was extremely hard to play against and scored timely goal for his teammates. Rick Tocchet grew very fond of him, as did the fans.
At this point, Zadorov seems to have made it clear that it would be against his wishes to hit the free agency market. Instead of getting it done, since he's already made it known he was willing to take a hometown discount, the Canucks are trying to take advantage and save every penny of this deal.
