A former Vancouver Canucks forward has shared what he would like to see from the team during the 2025-26 season as they hope to reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Vancouver Canucks are coming off a difficult 2024-25 campaign that culminated with them missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in the last five seasons.
After some changes in the offseason, both on and off the ice, General Manager Patrik Allvin feels pretty optimistic about his team's chances to rebound this season.
""I believe in the team we have here. We all know the parity of the league and the condensed schedule didn't help, but we're very excited about the group we have here, and more so, how they have come together, and how they bought into the coaches and how we want to play. They seem to have enjoyed coming to the rink, and there's been a lot of laughs, and coming together as a team has been important for Adam [Foote]. I give the players a lot of credit." Allvin said.

He added, "I think we have a good mix here with the older guys being here in the past and seeing some of the younger guys coming up from Abbotsford and Braeden Cootes coming in from junior hockey. It's been a very inspiring training camp leading up to this point. So, I think the team is ready and the staff is ready to get going here."

Former Vancouver Canucks forward Chris Higgins shares what he wants to see from this year's team

During a quick interview with Irfaan Gaffar of Rink Wide: Vancouver, former Vancouver Canucks forward Chris Higgins, who left the club last year after spending time as their Assistant Director of Player Development, revealed what he is hoping to see from this year's team as the new season gets underway.
"I think goals. See who scores the goals this year. I think they had a little bit of trouble last year. New look on the power play. But that'll be something I'm looking forward to this year." Higgins said.

When asked who he wants to see bounce back or who could be an X factor, he added, "I'd like to see one of the young guys take a bigger role. You know, you got Bains and Cootes and Lekkerimaki and Pettersson on D. One of them has got to make a big impact this season."
The young guys will certainly get their opportunities early on in the season to make an impact, especially Jonathan Lekkerimaki, the Canucks' first round pick in 2022, who is hoping to stick around the National Hockey League on a full-time basis going forward after impressing down in Abbotsford during the 2024-25 campaign.
