In a once completed trade with the New York Islanders, the team is really feeling the effects as former Captain Bo Horvat is proving the should have kept him.

Bo Horvat, once the captain of the Vancouver Canucks, is now crushing it for the New York Islanders, he is currently on pace to break his goal scoring average this season, Horvat was traded in 2023 to the Islanders.
After finishing one of the bottom teams in the NHL least year, Horvat and the Islanders are now well in a playoff spot.
"PuckEmpire posted on X the dissatisfaction with the Rangers and their decision to name J.T. Miller captain. He was known for being a bad teammate and even had a feud with Bo Horvat, which saw the former Canuck captain traded the New York Islanders."-Stinson

Bo Horvat is making the Vancouver Canucks regret trading him.

Izzy Cheung of the Hockey News reported on the incredible season Horvat is having this year, and the Islanders are reaping the rewards, sitting comfortably in third in the Metropolitan division. The Islanders turned everything around in just a year, and Horvat is a big reason why.
"To say the Canucks miss Horvat is an understatement. In a time that has seen the Canucks greatly suffer from a lack of centre depth, watching Horvat succeed with the Islanders is an experience wrought with ‘what ifs’ for the team currently sitting at 32nd in the NHL. The forward went through some dark times as a member of the Canucks organization, enduring rebuilds that weren’t quite titled as rebuilds at the time. Even so, the parting of ways between Horvat and the Canucks is long in the past — now, Vancouver will look to find the next anchor of their next youth movement. "-Cheung

The Canucks will look back on this deal, and at their current centre lineup and realize the errors they made. Horvat is on pace to beat his goal averages from the 2022-2023 season with the Canucks. And he provides leadership in spades, which the current Canucks lack. All the Canucks can do is learn from this mistake and improve for the future.
