Devils Could Pull Off Blockbuster Trade for Quinn Hughes If This Is What They Offer the Canucks

As trade speculation has reached a point of actually proposes being made for Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes, the New Jersey Devils may actually have a chance at landing him if they decide to offer this big return.
Ever since Vancouver Canucks President of Hockey Operations im Rutherford made some questionable comments about Quinn Hughes' future with the organization, and what they may "have" to do if he doesn't want to re-sign come 2027, the door has now been opened for more distraction and drama for the team.
"We control him for a year and two-thirds because if we get to that trade deadline two years from now and it looks like he doesn't want to stay, then we would have to do something." Jim Rutherford
Considered a big mistake, these comments do no good in helping the teams cause as they have already been at the center of drama and issues the last couple of seasons.
What do the New Jersey Devils need to offer to acquire Quinn Hughes from the Vancouver Canucks?
First off, it has to be made clear that the Canucks are desperate to keep Hughes as their captain for the rest of his career, but like Rutherford said at the end of year press conference, it may not come down to money in order for him to stay
"It may not boil down to money with [Quinn],» Rutherford said. «He said before he wants to play with his brothers. That would be partly out of our control. In our control if we brought his brothers here." - Rutherford
He really does want to play along side his brother Jack and Luke Hughes one day.
Because of this, the Canucks may have no choice but to give in and trade the reining Norris trophy winner in order to not be left with nothing.
But, obviously, the return would have to be pretty major in order for the transaction to be completed
NHL insider Jeff Marek says that a Quinn Hughes trade with the New Jersey Devils would likely start with either captain Nico Hischier or Swedish forward Jesper Bratt, along with other assets/
On top of landing Jesper Bratt or Nico Hischier, they would also want a "replacement on the blue line, starting with either Dougie Hamilton or worst case Simon Nemec.
The biggest point is that the Canucks still have him under contract for the next two seasons, so there is no real reason to panic, unless Hughes makes ot known that he will be moving on come contract time.
If that is the case, the return mentioned above is the only way in which the Canucks would actually make a deal..
