Evander Kane has recently shared how he truly feels about joining his hometown team, the Vancouver Canucks, ahead of his 17th season in the National Hockey League.

Earlier this summer, the Vancouver Canucks made a big splash on the NHL's trade market, completing a deal with the Edmonton Oilers which saw the club land forward Evander Kane in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.
After a fairly strong performance in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, helping the Edmonton Oilers reach the Final in back-to-back years, Evander Kane will look to bring his hometown team back to the postseason, while playing a significant role, likely in the top-six.
While Kane has had some issues both on and off the ice throughout the course of his career, the 33-year-old brings some much needed experience and leadership to the team's dressing room and the club is hoping it'll all work out in 2025-26, especially with him set to become a UFA next summer.

Evander Kane shares how he truly feels about joining his hometown Vancouver Canucks

During a recent interview with Chris Faber, Vancouver Canucks forward Evander Kane opened up on what it's like to be with the team he cheered for growing up.
Kane said that it hasn't really sunk in fully, but expects it to when he gets to training camp in less than two months and when he's able to walk onto the ice at Rogers Arena while donning a Vancouver Canucks jersey.
"It probably hasn't even sunk in a hundred percent yet, just cause, you know, you haven't had a practice yet, you haven't gone out there and played a game in front of the hometown. So, you know, it's the middle of the summer and it's set in a little bit, but I think once training camp gets rolling and you actually get on the ice and start practicing and letting the hockey kind of take over, I think it'll sink in a little bit more and get to the know the guys a bit better." Kane said.

He added, "I'm excited for that. Obviously, being able to put on a Vancouver Canucks uniform is really special. I grew up watching the Canucks. Markus Naslund was my favorite Canuck growing up by far."
It's certainly an exciting time to be a fan of the Vancouver Canucks with the club landing Evander Kane, re-signing Brock Boeser, along with handing out contract extensions to Conor Garland and Thatcher Demko.
With the entire roster, as things stand in late-July, fully healthy, the Vancouver Canucks are ready to make some noise in the Pacific Division and push for a spot in the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
