Former Vancouver Canucks defenseman And current New York Ranger has already found himself back in trade rumors with General manager Chris Drury after just a few short months after being traded.
Amid all of the drama and trade rumors that the Vancouver Canucks had to navigate while J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson were having their highly publicized feud, defenseman Carson Soucy found himself in the crosshairs.
This is what GM Chris Drury had to say about Soucy bolstering the d-core.
He's someone we could have in for the rest of the year and next year,» Drury said of Soucy. «I just like the overall game - the size, the skating, the sense, how he defends. We were able to do some homework on him the last couple weeks and we're excited to get him with a piece we got in the Reilly Smith trade.»
Carson Soucy Reportedly being shopped but the New York Rangers
Now, just after a short tenure with the Rangers organization, it appears that his services are no longer wanted as his name is a hot topic in the trade rumor mill.
Now, just months after trading for Soucy, there's a possibility he's on his way out of New York already.
According to The Athletic's James Mirtle, Soucy is potentially available via trade.
After GM Chris Drury had a lot hope for Soucy working out as a key member of the blue line, Soucy's few weeks with the team didn't exactly live up to their expectations.
The 30-year-old d-man was healthy scratched more times than not and didn't seem to fit into the Rangers' system.
