A former Vancouver Canucks defenseman opened up on Friday on what it felt like to see his son hoist the Stanley Cup for a second consecutive year with the Florida Panthers.
Florida lost just seven games throughout their Stanley Cup run, defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning in round one, Toronto Maple Leafs in round two, Carolina Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Final and as mentioned, the Edmonton Oilers in the Final.
A big reason for Florida's success throughout the regular season and Stanley Cup Playoffs was the play of West Vancouver native
Sam Reinhart, who scored four goals in the team's championship clinching game on Tuesday.

In an interview with Donnie & Dhali on Friday, former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Paul Reinhart, father of Sam, opened up on what it felt like to see his son win another Stanley Cup.
"It's hard to put into words just because...to win it once is impressive and then to follow that up with another one back-to-back is just an exceptional experience and accomplishment by this group of guys and Sam." Paul Reinhart said.
He added, "When he scored that first one you have that jolt of adrenaline. The second one in many respects was a bigger goal just because of the timing of it. Say what you want about empty net goals, the point is those guys were there, they defended, they controlled what they needed to do throughout that whole game and watching not just two, but then three and four was pretty thrilling up in the stands."
During Florida's run to their second consecutive Stanley Cup, Sam Reinhart put up 23 points, which was tied for the team lead with
Matthew Tkachuk and
Carter Verhaeghe, along with six penalty minutes and was a plus-five in 21 games.
Reinhart and the Panthers will hold their parade on Sunday in South Florida and at some point this summer, the 29-year-old will bring the Stanley Cup to Vancouver to celebrate with family and friends, something Canucks fans are hoping they'll get to experience in the coming years.
