A former Vancouver Canucks goaltender has been released from his contract one month into the 2025-26 season and is now left looking for a new home.

The last month has been very active in terms of player movement involving former members of the Vancouver Canucks organization both here in North America and overseas in several of Europe's top leagues.
Forward Nic Petan has his contract terminated in Switzerland just months have signing a multi-year deal with HC Ambri Piotta, while goaltender Louis Domingue also suffered the same fate but he found a new home pretty quickly, signing an AHL contract with the Charlotte Checkers.
This week, another former member of the Vancouver Canucks organization is searching for a new club after he was released less than a month after signing a contract in the ECHL.

According to the ECHL's transaction log, the Tahoe Knight Monsters, affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights & Henderson Silver Knights, have released former NHL netminder Zane McIntyre from his contract.
"Following are the ECHL transactions for Tuesday, November 18, 2025:

CONTRACTED PLAYERS RELEASED (eligible for waiver claims):

Tahoe:
Zane McIntyre, G"

McIntyre, 33, signed a one-year deal with the Tahoe Knight Monsters last month and went on to appear in four games for the club where he had a 1-3-0 record, a 2.55 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.
The Grand Forks, North Dakota native joined the Vancouver Canucks organization as a free agent in the summer of 2019 and while he never appeared in an NHL game for the club, other than serving as the backup, he suited up in 24 contests for their AHL affiliate at the time, the Utica Comets, before being traded to the New Jersey Devils for Louis Domingue.
The decision to release McIntyre was a bit puzzling, especially considering his numbers, but with Carter Hart being able to play with their AHL affiliate in Henderson as of last weekend and Tahoe having three goaltenders on their roster, perhaps they wanted to give the veteran netminder a chance to get playing time elsewhere, whether that be another ECHL club, AHL or even a return to Europe.
