Hockey world mourns the loss of beloved Utah Mammoth President and CEO Kevin Bruder

Some heartbreaking news has emerged from Utah, as Kevin Bruder, Team President and CEO of the Utah Grizzlies , has tragically passed away, leaving the organization and local community in deep mourning.
Kevin Bruder passed away on Sunday, May 11th, at the age of 56. Kevin was a cherished figure in the hockey world, serving as the General Manager of the Maverik Center, President and CEO of the Utah Grizzlies, and Chairman of the ECHL Board of Governors. His loss is felt profoundly throughout the organization and the broader hockey community.

Daniel Lucente from Blade of Steel writes that Kevin tragically passed while enjoying the natural beauty of Utah's outdoors, something that brought him immense joy throughout his life, alongside the love of his cherished family. He is survived by his wife, Susan, and their four children: Allison, Emily, Joel, and Christopher.
Kevin made Utah his home in 1997 when he relocated for the opening of the E-Center, now known as the Maverik Center, which would go on to host ice hockey events during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
The newly named Utah Mammoth took to social media to annoucne the tragic news.

Kevin was originally hired by Elmore Sports Group as the first General Manager of the arena, a role he held for nearly 30 years as he helped elevate the Maverik Center into a premier venue and focal point for the region.
In 2005, he was promoted to President and CEO of the Utah Grizzlies, and in 2021, his leadership and league-wide respect were further recognized when he was elected Chairman of the ECHL Board of Governors.
A quiet yet constant presence, Kevin was deeply respected for his humility, integrity, and unwavering dedication to others. As a mentor and advocate, he cultivated a culture of loyalty, inclusion, and opportunity, earning the trust and admiration of everyone around him.
His steady and engaged leadership left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Kevin's legacy is one defined by heart, service, and steadfast leadership. His impact on the community is enduring, and his absence will be profoundly felt.
