Important promotion for Dakota Joshua: Tocchet trying something new
The Canucks' power play has been struggling for quite some time now, and it appears that Rick Tocchet is finally trying a different mix.
The Canucks were back in the lab to try and perfect their game at practice, and it gave lieu to another special unit practice. With Elias Pettersson and Elias Lindholm on the sidelines for the team's most recent practice, Tocchet had to get creative and promoted the big power forward Dakota Joshua to the Canucks' first power play unit:

Joshua has been good since coming back; the Canucks will have use of his physicality and presence in front of the net. Elias Pettersson will most likely return to his spot on the team's top unit. It'll be interesting to see how they deploy from there and see if they find a way to score.
