Insider blasts Quinn Hughes over Performance this Season.

There isn't a team in the NHL with less hope than the Vancouver Canucks, with many injuries, they are weak on offence and defence, and unfortunately their captain Quinn Hughes looks like he already threw in the towel.

Much of the blame has to fall on Patrick Allvin's shoulders, who built a team with zero support if injuries like these happen.
"General Manager Patrik Allvin has reportedly been working the phone lines, even before the team's injury issues, to get some forward help for his group, potentially in their middle-six to replace Nils Hoglander, who is out of action until later on in December."-Jaxon

Hughes doesn't look motivated or interested with Canucks.

Taj on X posted his thoughts about Hughes, and his lack of motivation this season. He either already has one foot out the door, with him potentially leaving once he becomes a free agent. Or he is just too frustrated/hopeless to give it everything he has.
Sat on Hughes:

I don't want to sit here and say he looks like a player who has checked out. But he doesn't look like the locked in player who's focused that we've seen in the past.

The superstar defensemen hasn't been impressive at all this season. Despite being injured, he has the third highest goals against expectancy on the team, and the Canucks are close to last in that stat as a team, meaning when Hughes is on the ice lots of goals are going in against the Canucks. To his defence the Canucks have some of the worst puck possession time in the NHL, so that's bound to happen, when you play the most ice time on the team.
This season he has a respectable 8 points in 11 games, but on defence he doesn't seem as engages as he should be. It could be that he is trying too hard to make some offence happen for a team that can hardly produce any, but it is more likely that he just doesn't see this team going anywhere. If the Canucks cannot fix their issues in the next two years, there isn't a possibility at all that Hughes re-signs with the team.
