An injury update was given on Thursday regarding Vancouver Canucks forward Teddy Blueger after being placed on IR by the organization last Friday.

It's been a rough start to the 2025-26 campaign for Vancouver Canucks forward Teddy Blueger after he suffered an injury during the preseason that kept him out of the lineup until October 17th against Chicago.
Two days later, the Canucks faced the Washington Capitals in what turned out to be an injury-filled game for the club with Filip Chytil leaving the game after being hit by Tom Wilson and was joined by Jonathan Lekkerimaki and Teddy Blueger, who suffered a leg injury in just his second game of the season.
Less than a week after suffering that injury against Washington, the Canucks decided to place Teddy Blueger on injured reserve (IR) retroactive to Sunday, October 19th and on Thursday, an update was given as to when the Latvian could return to the team's lineup.
"General Manager Patrick Allvin announced today that F Teddy Blueger has been placed on injured reserve (retroactive to Oct. 19)." the Canucks said last Friday.

As the Vancouver Canucks await the return of several key players including Quinn Hughes and Conor Garland, it looks like fans are getting closer to seeing Teddy Blueger back on the ice as well.
NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal revealed on Thursday's edition of Donnie & Dhali that Teddy Blueger could be back in the Vancouver Canucks' lineup at some point next week.
"And Teddy Blueger, Donnie, could be back next week. So, it looks like they could get some of the walking wounded back." Dhaliwal said.
Blueger, a native of Riga, Latvia, is in his third season with the Vancouver Canucks after signing with them in July 2023, just weeks after he won the Stanley Cup as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights.
The 31-year-old managed to stay healthy for all of last season, appearing in 82 games and while it's still early, this year has been difficult for him on the injury front, something he can't be too happy about, especially as he's set to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer and wants to increase his value/potential salary before Canada Day.
