Conor Garland's timeline to return to the Vancouver Canucks' lineup has been revealed after suffering an injury earlier this week against the New York Rangers.

During the final game of their most recent homestand, the Vancouver Canucks not only fell to the New York Rangers, but also lost one of their key forwards in Conor Garland, who was forced to leave after the second period following a hit earlier in the night from Sam Carrick.
"No update on Garland post-game from Foote.

"They're evaluating him right now." Foote said on Tuesday night according to Daily Hive's Rob Williams.

Garland was unable to accompany the team for the start of their road trip in St. Louis against Pius Suter and the Blues after General Manager Patrik Allvin confirmed to reporters that the forward and captain Quinn Hughes would not be flying with the club.
"Per @risingaction:

#Canucks GM Patrik Allvin tells me neither Conor Garland nor Quinn Hughes are travelling with the team. Canucks flying to St. Louis today.

Allvin still hopeful Hughes can join the team in either Minnesota or Nashville." TSN's Farhan Lalji said.

Insider gives update on when Conor Garland may return to Vancouver Canucks lineup

Despite not having Conor Garland and a slew of other key players, including Brock Boeser, who left the game early in the first period, the Vancouver Canucks were able to get the job done, picking up a big two points thanks to a shootout win over the Blues.
Earlier on Thursday, NHL insider and co-host of Donnie & Dhali Rick Dhaliwal gave an update on Conor Garland and how long the 29-year-old winger could be out of the lineup for.
According to Dhaliwal, Garland is expected to be out for around a week, which would put him on track for a potential return as early as Wednesday night back at Rogers Arena as the Canucks host Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks.
"And for Conor Garland, I'm starting to feel more one week. One week for Garland. Upper body." Dhaliwal said.
Garland, a native of Scituate, Massachusetts, is having a phenomenal start to the 2025-26 season with 11 points (three goals, eight assists), along with four penalty minutes and is a plus-six in 11 games.
If Garland is only out for a week, that'll be a big sigh of relief for the Vancouver Canucks' coaching and management staff given how important he is to this team and hopefully, he'll be able to suit up when the team returns home to take on Chicago next Wednesday.
